BIFFY CLYRO FRONT COVER
This magazine is a music magazine that mainly focuses on the rock genre. It cost around £2.10 and is packed with music, bands and information that is either new or upcoming.
The front cover of the magazine is big, eye-catching and overall quite busy and full. This magazine is similar to all of their magazines with the mast head at the top and a big mid-close-up of a band. The photo will always be the main focus of the front cover and the main focus throughout the magazine. The pictures included on this cover is rebellious from the tattoos and there body language e.g. the girl in the bottom right corner. This cover is mostly aimed at the working class or lower middle class.
We can tell from the front cover that the magazine follows the rock genre; we can see this from the masthead being a sans-serif font with cuts and parts missing giving it a messy feel.
The photo used on the front cover makes the person in the middle ‘Biffy’ the main focus. Another technique that makes him stand out is the way they have used apposing colors, white and black. The lighting on his face makes it quite dark and shadowed, but the two on either side of him, have been positioned for a different effect, to have their faces lit up, also with their clothes and masthead background and the main background.
Around the top and bottom of the page they advertise free give outs which will attract people to the magazine. This interacts with the reader and makes them think that they care and want to give things away and be generous.
